Absence request
Electronic Leave of Absence Request Forms
We are pleased to let families know that our school will now be using electronic Leave of Absence Request Forms for all planned absences, provided by Bradford Council. The new online system contains all the same information previously required on the paper form, but with some benefits to make the process smoother for everyone.
What’s new?
- The form can be completed on a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop, making it easier to submit wherever you are.
- You will be asked to provide details for both parents/carers who are travelling, which helps us meet safeguarding requirements.
- When selecting the school, please ensure you choose St John’s CofE Primary School from the dropdown list. (see image below)
- Paper copies of absence request forms will still be available and stored in the school office for anyone who prefers them.
- This can be submitted for any absence request – religious observance, funeral, booked holiday.
- Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming acceptance or decline, followed by the usual letter from school.
Important reminder
Leave of absence requests must be completed before the leave begins as we cannot grant a leave of absence retrospectively.
