Sports Premium Funding
What is the Sports Premium?
The government is providing funding of £150 million per year to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. PE and sport premium funding from the government is designed to help all primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. We believe in providing children with a broad and balanced PE curriculum which will motivate children to lead healthy lifestyles. We believe that sports and extra-curricular clubs play an important role in promoting social inclusion, healthy lifestyles and self confidence. Children should have access to high quality PE teaching and resources which will give them a love of the subject and encourage them to participate in a range of sports and raise their achievement levels.
We have been awarded the Sainsbury's School Games Silver Award.
