Safeguarding for Parents/Carers
We have a duty of care to ensure all of our children are safe.
If we have concerns about the safety of any children, we follow the procedures outlined in our Child Protection Policy. Parents are welcome to read this policy on the Policies page
It outlines how we deal with any issues when we think children may not be safe, including how we would act if we felt children were not safe at home.
All concerns are recorded and handed to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Andrew Lupton and the Designated Safeguarding Team.
Our school's Child Protection Policy can be found by our Policies page
The Designated Safeguarding Team at St John’s CE Primary are:
As a team we decide how to deal with a concern. This would usually involve speaking to parents or people from other agencies such as health or social care.
If we feel a child is at risk of harm we would usually discuss this with parents unless doing so presents a risk to the child. We then have a duty of care to report our concerns to the assessment team at Bradford Children's Social Care.
They can be contacted on 01274 437500 or at The Bradford Partnership
The safeguarding team work with all colleagues to ensure all children are safe. The colleagues with specific responsibilities for specifica areas are:
Attendance - Hannah Child
Online safety - Emma Stitch
